AUDIT / EXAMINATION - support, education and knowlegibility

Knowledge empowers us all! One of the best areas to apply this is a tax audit. Following reform of the Internal Revenue Service the term “audit” has been replaced with the friendlier “examination”. The mission statement has changed as well, the Service is now focusing on providing “ America 's taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities”. However, the emotional impact of such examination sends many taxpayers in search of professional help. There are some elements we would like you to consider in your quest for help and support. Internal Revenue Publications represent a simplified version of the essence of the tax law. Both parties involved in an audit (service and taxpayer) have to follow the letter of the law concentrated in Subtitle F of the Internal Revenue Code, Procedure and Tax Administration. In terms of a chess game a good player thinks ahead of each move.  This process involves knowledge of each and every code section, treasury regulation, revenue ruling, revenue procedure and case law that relates to a particular situation.

The limited exceptions provided by the tax law are offering relief to a limited number of business and individuals based on factual realities and requirements. Not every taxpayer will be able to qualify and no taxpayer should rely on potential scenarios. At the other end of the process we find taxpayers without the support and information on the application of abatement of interest and penalties.

TaxCaffe is well prepared to provide clients with a documented road map of the process along with a realistic array of expectations to conclude the process. Our goal is to assist our clients in preparing them well for a process that could prove long and frustrating.
